Michael attended Mounds View High School in Arden Hills, MN and was a 4-year varsity starter in The Sport of Football. When he graduated in 2007, he left as the school's All-Time leading scorer, All-Time leading rusher, and All-Time leading rushing scorer. He was also an All-Conference track athlete as a sprinter. To this date, he has nearly 20 300-games and 5 800-series in The Sport of Bowling.

Michael was offered a partial football scholarship to Truman State University, a Division II school in Missouri. He ended up transferring to the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota in 2008. In his first year after being named the starting running back he fractured both his ankles. This was when he found his purpose through the study of Philosophy and American Sign Language.

In 2013 he crossed paths with his now 12 year partner, Ms. Franciska. Together, they got into the Property Management industry. They learned to co-manage in multi-family housing that included market rate, senior living, project based section 8, resort operations and mobile home communities. In 2020, Michael’s dad, Vincent Lionel Duncombe, passed-through from prostate cancer in which he then begin writing The Scholarships 4 Us® Program.
